Jonathan
Jonathan Turner studied Economics at Cambridge University, and subsequently gained an MBA at Manchester Business School. Most of Jonathan's early career in line management was spent with SmithKline Beecham, where he worked in the toiletries division. After experience in brand management on Macleans and Aquafresh toothpastes, he became Marketing Manager of the hair care division, responsible for a marketing team with a portfolio of hair care brands. Jonathan joined OxfordSM in 1988, and became Managing Consultant in 2001. Jonathan combines his leadership of the business with hands-on client work, most recently in the Leisure and Travel sectors.
Gina Banns graduated from Bristol University with a BSc & MSc in Microbiology and Genetics. Gina began her career in Cadbury Schweppes, initially managing tea and food brands and then as Regional Marketing Manager for Europe and North America. She moved to Beecham's International Division in 1978, as Market Development Manager for health drinks then toiletries in the Pacific Rim, African, Middle Eastern and Caribbean markets. After a stint in Japan she was appointed Strategic Development Manager for fragrances, skincare and personal care across the International Region. Her final 2 years were spent in UK toiletries working on new product launches across 3 key personal categories. Gina joined OxfordSM in 1987. She has most recently been working on both capability and strategy projects in sectors such as Financial Services, Food Retail, Leisure and Hospitality.
Jonathan
Karen Davies graduated with a degree in English from Southampton University. Karen spent the first 10 years of her working life at Unilever. She had roles across marketing and sales within Birds Eye Walls, and, as marketing manager, built the white meat frozen food category into a £100m business within three years. She also worked on the development and management of the Birds Eye brand. Her last role before joining OxfordSM was as a general manager, heading up a business unit which accounted for 60% of the company profit. In this role she was responsible for all aspects of commercial strategy and implementation, from marketing to factory operations. Karen joined OxfordSM in 1998. She has most recently been working on segmentation, customer strategy and brand positioning in Retail and Telecoms sectors.
Jonathan
Bob James was educated at Manchester Grammar School and Cambridge University, where he graduated in Modern Languages. After time spent in the City with Chase Manhattan Bank, Bob joined the Marketing Department of Procter & Gamble. Following an initial training period in Sales, Bob gained his first brand management experience in detergents and babycare. He became Brand Manager for Bar Soaps, and then successfully managed two of P&G's largest brands - Bold (£80m sales) and Ariel Powders (£120m). Bob joined Oxford Strategic Marketing in mid 1994. Over the last 18 months he has directed brand positioning, brand activation and organisational design projects in consumer healthcare and leisure sectors.
Jonathan
Julian Thomas read History at Cambridge University, graduating in 1981. He spent over seven years in marketing at Procter & Gamble, working in all three European divisions - detergents, paper and toiletries. As a Brand Manager, he was responsible for a major relaunch of Daz, and the introduction of Ultra Pampers. On Pampers he also pioneered the use of direct marketing techniques in FMCG products. He then became Marketing Manager for oral care products and OTC medicines, responsible for developing new European marketing and product development strategies. Julian joined Oxford Strategic Marketing in 1989. He has most recently been working in the pharmaceuticals sector on brand and NPD strategies and on development of marketing excellence programmes.
Jonathan
Marina Foxlee graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Economics. After graduating, Marina joined RHM Foods and worked initially in sales, thereafter marketing and corporate planning. Her last marketing role was at Manor Bakeries as Marketing Controller for Mr. Kipling and Cadbury's Cakes. Marina joined Oxford Strategic Marketing in 1989. Since then, she has worked on a wide range of sales, marketing and business development issues, as well as developing and implementing best practice and capability transformation programmes. Within strategy, she has particular expertise in joint ventures/alliances, mergers and segmentation. Within capability transformation, she has extensive experience in organisation design, performance metrics and culture change. Most recently Marina has been working in the healthcare, FMCG and Financial Services sectors.
Jonathan
Jill Hilliard graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1985 with a first in Business. Jill spent 8 years at P&G Health & Beauty Cae, attaining Director level. Experience spanned management of brands, multiple portfolios and people. As Marketing Director at Walkers Crisps, Jill re-staffed and redefined Walkers proposition to a highly successful pan-Euro team. Joining OxfordSM in 1997, Jill is highly experienced at directing both strategy and capability assignments across a wide variety of sectors, geographic and business challenges. Her particular penchant is for insight-driven business growth plans.
